Orphans : I find them in unexpected and out of the way places.
They often suggest a deeper purpose than their current role as the concrete remnants of dismantled structures.
In 1978, I began photographing these objects as I ran across them.
Now I'm actively looking for more. This is a work in progress.

Small Water : I live in a high desert environment. Our water is small, scarce, and very precious. A popular bumper sticker around here captures the sentiment perfectly - Nuestra Agua, Nuestra Vida. This ongoing collection is about our water, our life. There are no magnificent sunsets over majestic seas, just an intimate look at the rivers, creeks, acequias, and reservoirs here in New Mexico.

Tangle : Nature is so disorganized.

Hummers : These little birds live with us five months out of the year.
There are countless technically perfect photos of them on the web and in field guides.
I wanted to do something a little different.

Portrait Session at the Zoo : This old girl lived at the Albuquerque Zoo. Her name was Bernice.
I'd like to thank her for sitting for me.
